| 104334 | 2002-12-08 23:47:00 | I'm trying to install ACDsee 5.0 powerpack onto my editing machine, which is not connected to the internet. It is trying to download the program 'Instmsia.exe' (which I know it needs to do its install). There doesn't seem to be any way of pointing it to use the copy of this install utility that I already have sitting in a folder. It seems hell bent on wanting to download it or simply refusing to install! Does anyone know of a simple solution short of installing a modem and hooking this machine to the net for a one-off install? |

| 104336 | 2002-12-09 03:05:00 | the instmsia thingy is an update for windows installer, you can download it seperately and install it if you can access the internet from a different machine (or whatever). I dont have the address on hand right now, but I could probably find it if you need me to. I had this problem installing ACDsee 4, downloading the instms... exe file and installing it seperately fixed the problem. I think I got it from the ACDSee website, but you have to look at where the program is trying to download it from and copy the link into your browser. I dont think ACDSee has a link to it on their site. Of course, none of this is relevent if you cant get onto the internet from anther machine, but how else would you post on PressF1? Cheers. |
