| 1323993 | 2013-01-21 19:52:00 | Hi all, I have a work colleague where his son's ~1yr old Acer laptop has an issue with the power connector - caused by carelessness with the cord, so not a warranty issue. He's recently moved to the Wellington (Hutt) & doesn't know any reputable repairers in the area. I'm much the same despite living here for years, because I've been able to do DIY repairs on my computers, but haven't had a really complex issue with a laptop so far, so I've never had to ask the question. So can any of you local PF1'ers recommend a good place for him to go? TIA, Mushhead |

Last two that had similar problems actually had motherboard damage, cracks on the board and around the mounting points and the boards needed replacing. Removing the socket and replace may or may not have been enough - gave her some other options. |
