1323475 2013-01-18 22:29:00 As an exercise I want to set up my old Desk top as server so am doing some housekeeping first.
It is a Dell Dimension 2400
XT with 1 GB ram.
Anyway when I start it up it shows 4 drives in Explorer
C = C Drive
D = CD Drive
E = CD Writer
F = CD Drive

D & E are "Phantoms" as they don't exist.

Also want to add a 160 GB Seagate HD which i have been given but will do that once I sort the drives out.

Checked the setup and nothing strange there.

How do I get rid of the phantoms?

1323476 2013-01-18 22:32:00 You probably have a virtual drive installed, something like Daemon tools or alcohol 120% - there are quite a lot of them around. It should show up in the tray near the clock and you can either uninstall it or disable the virtual drives dugimodo (138)

Don't remeber using either of those programs but will look into it.
