1323395 2013-01-18 00:50:00 My local computer store tells me that Surface Pro will only be available in MS-branded shops, of which there are none in New Zealand. I really want to get one ASAP after release (please don't ask why, I just do). Anyone know how to get one in NZ? daveconz (7468)
1323396 2013-01-18 01:00:00 Right now, no one can get one anywhere ;) pcuser42 (130)

I just wonder if anyone has any idea what the situation is going to be here in NZ, or if it's possible to pre-order one either here or from overseas. daveconz (7468)

1323400 2013-01-18 01:28:00 You obviously know this is a "first hardware offering" from Microsoft, meaning it's likely to have lots of problems, and require almost daily patching.

These are the only customer who would enjoy purchasing it when it was initially released

* people who enjoy sadomasochistic or slave / master relationships

* professional reviewers

* independently wealthy, looking for a distraction from their boring hum-drum life.

I'm going to give Windows 8 a complete miss, and wait for Windows 9.

Not if you count the Surface RT. The Surface RT had issues with the power connector not making contact, which was fixed on the Surface Pro - just one example.

I will ask him on Monday how he did it.

Received it yesterday.
