1323263 2013-01-22 02:03:00 Celerons were crippled Pentium, with half and more of the cache disabled, therefore the CPU cycles a lot more to get equivalent performance of the original Pentium chip.....MS Security will hammer the Celly chip, you might be better off finding alternative A/V software. 1323265 2013-01-26 04:55:00 I run Avast! on an old 900Mhz Celeron Socket 370 machine. Don't do much with it though, mostly viewing electrical datasheets and circuit layouts and such, and playing music.

But it doesn't seem to have a huge impact.
