1323548 2013-01-22 03:32:00 OP, I just built a unit with the ASRock board and an IB i3, sweet little board, if a little low on SATA ports.....anyway, I used a Ben Prodigy
pricespy.co.nz
case after deciding the Elite 120 was too small for me to work with....

However, if my eye were better and hands smaller, I would go with the Elite.....thought the Prodigy is an awesome case.

1323549 2013-01-22 04:52:00 As for TradeMe, just saw that too. But wait there's more!!!!! Ordered one with a case and that is coming from Element14. Weird?! Hopper (14491)

I like that Ben Prodigy case but unfortunately wouldn't suit for the environment it would be going in. I needed something a lot more compact than that (or the Elite 120).

Gonna see how this Raspberry Pi goes before committing a handful of moolah towards a dedicated HTPC.

1323551 2013-01-22 05:49:00 I looked into buying a Pi from Element14, TradeMe is the approved retailer in NZ...What?

I just went straight in and ordered one direct from the element14 website. I didn't need to do anything special.

PM me if you need something purchased through them and you are having issues getting it done.

1323552 2013-01-22 06:02:00 Never mind, I see the $58 pi that you ordered. Using this link: downloads.element14.com which I got from searching their site doesn't work. icow (15313)
1323553 2013-01-22 06:52:00 I think you have to click Business instead of Consumer on their site to be able to by it. jonovw (16835)
1323554 2013-01-22 07:23:00 Yeah I figured that out eventually. icow (15313)
1323555 2013-01-22 20:33:00 Sweet! I've had mine going for a few days now, works a treat :D

Yet to try any high bitrate 1080p video, so far it's all been 720p, so I should get around to that. Apparently it'll play 30fps just fine though? I have an Onkyo receiver so I'll tell the Pi to passthrough DTS / AC3 audio to help ease the load on the processor.

Hey Chill, what video formatts does the Pi play, do you need specific software installed on it to run?...Im thinking I could use this to steam video and music from my NAS box?...I too have been thinking about the WD Live player but $60 v $200 sound like a win to me, wonder if you could use wireless mouse\keyboard?

1323556 2013-01-22 21:26:00 I have a WDTV Live as well. The XBMC Pi plays pretty much everything I need. Tested with h.264 MKV, DivX AVIs... Streaming from windows networks.

Wireless mouse and keyboard works (USB receiver) but I'm just using the phone / tablet app instead.

1323557 2013-01-22 22:51:00 Well now, I think I might have to get one of these then.....what do you mean by tablet app? SolMiester (139)
