1298730 2012-09-05 03:38:00 I'm home and here's a little update for what has happened so far and to give a catch-up on the last four or five days:

On Wednesday I had some very serious heart 'things' happening and I had a BP of 190/140 and a pulse of 100+, stopping and starting and racing and triple beating - ya know --- and it SEEMED to be from the smoke coming from Idaho - across the border to our West from Montana that was exacerbating the situation .

I took it easy all day and that night it seemed to settle down to where I could sleep OK .

Next day, Thursday I took my wife to the County Fair and while there we were out of the smoke from the fires and I really felt good! When we left the fair and went home - back to the smoke, the pain came back so I knew that the smoke was the instigating problem and I figured it's just a transitory problem .

Then, since I had an appointment for a possible hernia-consult at the VA in Fort Harrison, Helena, MT - about 300 miles away, I'd tell the doctor there about the heart-thingy and she'd say it was OK .

Although my heart wasn't acting up - at least so I could tell - she heard something and shoved me across the hall into the ER where the gave me some aspirin and a nitroglycerin pill .

Then all hell broke out! I lost my blood pressure, pulse and stopped breathing .

There were people hopping over desks and counters to get to me and I blacked out in some of the most excruciating pain I've ever felt .

About a minute later - which seemed like 1/2 hour to me - I came to and they slammed me into the CCU for two days and then on the main ward for two days more .

I got out today after an Echo-cardiogram and a Doppler 1D/2D and then they told me to go home for further testing next week .

So -- that's where I am right now - home waiting for more problems ---------- if and when they come or not .

1298731 2012-09-05 07:11:00 You were very lucky to be in ED at the time. Don't you have a closer hospital?

Take it easy and don't go doing anything rash now you hear!
