You need a pretty good camera to make Aussie look good anyway

1298596 2012-09-03 21:01:00 Two ways to look at this..... is it a photo of the landscape that has a couple of hang gliders in it? Or is it a photo of a couple of hang gliders. If it is the first, well,it is OK because it is a true record of what the day was like. If it was the second, IMHO it needs cropping using a smidgen of the rule of thirds.

My feelings on editing is that we never know what is a true images at the current conditions. Mist and haze can have a great effect. So, I have adjusted the tone control just a wee bit and cropped it'

On the contrary, almost any camera can make Aussie look better than real life. Technique is everything, use the correct exposure, use an appropriate ISO setting, use a tripod, and most importantly - set the tripod the on a firm footing anywhere (except Australia). You are guaranteed to get a picture better than any yet taken of Oz. ;)

Of course, it depends on monitor setup and personal preference. For me, this photo ought to give the look and feel of Australia - a bit of haze, not too saturated, not too much contrast, only a tad sharpening perhaps.

A good photo Metla. I like the way that hardly anybody has cropped it. One really gets the feeling of being there

1298599 2012-09-03 22:38:00 Try this (www.imagef1.net.nz). In Photoshop adjusted Curves slightly, bit of Vibrance, touch of warming filter(85) & sharpened. fnphoto (2434)

Whatever you say. I thought we were discussing the photo. Flying things like that don't really interest me.
