1323016 2013-01-16 18:28:00 U KNOW IT'C A LOT HARDR 2 READ +GC LIKE THIC THAN WRITTEN IN PLAIN ENGLICH

Anyhow, are you mounting the drive via a USB drive enclosure? In other words, do you plug a USB cable in to see the drive?

Obviously if you do see the drive, don't format it or do anything about the partition. Otherwise you'll make recovery a lot harder.

If it's an internal drive, mounted inside your PC, you could remove it, and send it to this company

Of course, get a quote before sending it off.

1323017 2013-01-16 18:42:00 hi, yeah its mounted in a usb drive enclosure. happyg01 (15676)
1323018 2013-01-16 19:37:00 I'd remove the hard drive from the USB enclosure. Usually this takes a very small "jeweler's" Phillip head screw driver. Any hardware store will carry these. They are sometimes in eyeglass repair kits.

Option #1: if you're comfortable with opening your PC, you can attach a SATA cable from the drive to any free SATA port. You'll also need SATA power.

Option #2: buy a new USB enclosure, and move the drive from the old enclosure to the new.

try this link, if you're in NZ

www.ascent.co.nz

Do *NOT* reformat or repartition your drive, until you've recovered your files.

1323019 2013-01-16 20:05:00 Some enclosures encrypt the drives meaning they won't read in another enclosure or plugged directly into the computer.
Some models of western digital are like this, there may be others as well. Still worth a try just bear this in mind.

but it doesnt appear in my computer except in disk drives
I'm not sure what you mean by this, when you double click my computer is it showing up with a drive letter there or not?
If not the computer is not recognising that the drive is partitioned/ formatted. You could right click my computer, choose manage, go to disk management, see how it looks in that list. Just don't format or partition it or you will lose everything.

It's also worth plugging it into another computer and different USB ports. I've occasionally had drives do this and they worked perfectly after trying again on a different machine/ port. I've had a suspicion it's a symptom of a poor USB connection.

1323021 2013-01-17 05:45:00 Got a message saying this disk need to be formated before it be used happyg01 (15676)
1323022 2013-01-17 06:49:00 Your disk may have failed.
However you could try either
Photorec from the testdisk suite (free)
www.cgsecurity.org
or recuva (paid)
www.piriform.com

One of them may be able to see your files and recover them.

Good luck.

1323023 2013-01-17 07:38:00 Sounds like the partition table has been corrupted. Your data should still be there, just not visible.

You can try EaseUS Data Recovery www.easeus.com The free version allows you to recover UPTO a total of 1GB, but it does show what can be seen/recovered. If it finds your files you have to decide if they are worth paying for the software if you have over 1GB.

You can use the drive as a External Via USB or slave it to the PC that has the recovery software in.
