104379 2002-12-09 03:51:00 I am looking for a scanning program that will let me scan in from a newspaper or typewritted document and then save the scan as a word document. Is there such a program. At present I am scanning as a picture file and saving as a bmp. Not very satisfactory.

It can take a bit of experimenting to get the error rate acceptably low.

Clean photocopies have the least errors, fax copies will contain more. If it's ancient, grubby newsprint there will be LOTS.
