| 104961 | 2002-12-11 00:23:00 | I am having problems with Trillian instant messenger. I can connect to my AIM, MSN and ICQ accounts with it and chat. The problem is that I can't chat for long to people on AIM. It works fine for MSN and ICQ but not for AIM. I have applied the patch which is available from the website. I have got version 0.74. I can chat for ages on either MSN or ICQ but only for about 2 minutes on AIM. I have tried changing the skin and the settings and it doesn't work. It crashes the computer and I have to restart the computer in the end. Then when I reconnect as soon as I open up the AIM chat window it crashes!! I have Windows 98, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, AMD Duron 850Mhz processor and I have no other programs running at the same time when it crashes. Can anyone else help me!!! The website says nothing and I have alerted my friends to that fact and they are just accepting it. I don't want to have to install AIM seperately cos' I don't want to have three programs running which don't integrate. Any ideas?? I would love to chat to my AIM friends without it crashing. Brendonny P.S. I have alerted trillian to the fact that it crashes but when has that ever helped. |

| 104965 | 2002-12-11 02:18:00 | Hey That's the one thing I hated about trillian... The fact that MSN and other companies didn't want users using third party software to connect to their servers... Bit of a bugger - makes you wonder why one of them hasn't made something that's multiplatform yet.... eg: MSN Messenger that can communicate with AOL Users |

| 104969 | 2002-12-11 07:40:00 | Baldy, if you want to be "invisible" to everyone, just click on the little circles on the bottom right hand side of the Trillian window (where all your contacts are listed) and choose Set Status>Privacy (or Appear Offline, etc) . No one will be able to see you until you double-click on a person's name and start a conversation with them . That person will then see you and their window will tell them that your status is Invisible . If you are already in a conversation with someone they will still see you but others won't . |
