104796 2002-12-10 08:30:00 I have a problem with Outlook 2000
Whenever I try to open a message I get an error message that says:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe
abnormal program termination

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook without any difference.
Is anyone able to suggest any other options?

Thanks

104798 2002-12-11 04:58:00 Hi Capt Jimbo

If you don't have Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other (CW) option installed as mentioned in the above MS information link, you might want to have a look at this MSKB article as well if you use McAfee VirusScan. I know it is for Outlook 2002 and not 2000 but it may help.

104799 2002-12-11 06:07:00 Thanks Jen

It described my problem very accurately.
Unfortunately it didn't provide a cure.
I did find in "Com Add-ins" an item called "ICQ Express"
I've unticked it and Outlook seems to be behaving itself.
Here's hoping it's as simple as that.
