104785 2002-12-10 08:10:00 A friends PC hard drive crashed. He installed a new one and reloaded his OS, Windows 98. Everything works except the sound? I've had a look and the OS can't detect a sound card. CDs etc won't play. I've tried running the "Add new Hardware" wizard but no sound card is found. Suggestions? (He doesn't know which sound card he has). bba12 (1139)
104786 2002-12-10 08:13:00 Maybe onboard sound. Does he have a motherboard CD with drivers on it? wotz (335)

104788 2002-12-10 09:07:00 make sure matherboard drivers are installed. if windows dosn't detect it then open the case and see what sound card it is. tweak'e (174)
