I have just been given a Philips 17B monitor in apparently good condition. When I attempt to fire it up on my G-Forece2 MX400, it will only run at 640 x 480 in 16 colours. Have tried various drivers, searched thr Net, no mention of this model monitor. Anybody help? |

A bit more information please Doug. What happens when you triy other resolutions? What OS are you using. I would suspect that it's your GForce driver not the monitor at fault. Look at www.nvidia.com for a new driver. Also try a new monitor driver from philips web site. A monitor driver will restrict the screen resilutions to only thos which your monitor can handlr. It's possible that the new monitor hasn't been detected properly. |

It should work ok as a "plug and play" monitor. |

XP Pro. The monitor supposedly supports resolutions up to 12?? x 10??. If I set it to 1024 x 768 in 256 colours or higher, and press "Apply" it simply resets to 640 x 480 16 colours |

The full I.D from the monitor is Model 17B 1822Q/77C |

If it resets after you hit "Apply" that must be a graphic card drive thing. Did you download a new driver from nVidia? |

The driver that I am using is about 3 months old, downloaded from the nVidea site. I have visited again, but can see no help there. I am inclined to think that it is a specialised monitor, perhaps designed for a scientific device of some sort. |
