If you want Xtra as your homepage while in Internet Explorer click Tools and then where it says homepage type: Save it and reset.. If you keep having problems then I would reccomend doing an online virus scan from: TrendMicro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com" target="_blank">www.xtra.co.nz. Save it and reset.. If you keep having problems then I would reccomend doing an online virus scan from: TrendMicro (http:)

Dependant on how old your PCCD is that may just be normal (I know Older CDRoms did it) however this is been fixed with later versions (some make a whirring noise - which is normal, it's just the fans going away)

And you shouldn't be able to hear clicks when you download a file..

105985 2002-12-16 05:09:00 I'm not quite sure if he actually wanted to make Xtra his homepage.

But you'll find many CD drives have their little oddities. A friend has one that heats the CDs up to a high temperature, I have one that continues to spin the CD up to a few minutes after reading has finished off the drive, another one which is extremely sensitive - one little bump and it withdraws the tray, another that makes bad-sounding whirring and clicking sounds sometimes. It seems no CD drives are free of their little faults.

105986 2002-12-16 07:53:00 Your post is a little unclear as to what exactly is the problem. My reading of it is that possibly you have 2 dialup accounts. When you go to connect then the wrong one dials. Is this your problem?

If so, there are probably variations in how to set the default depending on your operating system.

(A friend asked me what "default" is. My answer was that if the outside door to her office is usually closed - then the default setting for the door is closed. If the door is open it's in non-default mode)

To fix the default (preferred) dialup in Win 98 - start; settings; control panel; internet options; click the "connections" tab; highlight the connection you want to use as default. Click the default button.
