105739 2002-12-13 11:13:00 Hmmm. I cannot open any folders on my desktop, yet I can open programs. I have a random extra toolbar (looks like one for a shopping site...) called Xupiter on my IE. Ad-aware can't find anything and neither can McAffee (yet). When I start up I get Xtcfgloader and Xtcfgrunner as programs running via ctrl alt delete i can see them. I close these and I still can't open desktop folders. Xupiterstartup is also running and closing that doesn't help either. I have never seen these before.

When I try to open a folder on my desktop I get an Explorer Illegal Op. I click OK and nothing happens, except an Internet Explorer internal error message comes up saying one of my IE windows will be closed. Odd, considering I'm not on the net and don't have any IE windows open... I click OK and it closes My Documents or whatever other folder. I managed to run ad-aware and mcaffee off the desktop fine though.

Please help, I would like to access my files... =\

105740 2002-12-13 18:05:00 Xupiter is a spyware program which is infecting users worldwide.
McAffee will not detect it as it is not a virus.

It can be removed with Ad-aware but you must have the current version and you must also download and install the newest reference file 042-24-09-2002
Earlier reference files will not detect Xupiter

105741 2002-12-14 03:55:00 Ok, got rid of it all except for one .dll file in the Program files/Xupiter/something or other folder. =\ Everything else works fine again though. The .dll file won't be deleted and its not read only. =\ Adam_with_HP (2601)
