105932 2002-12-14 09:56:00 I like upgrading my pc when I can afford it & I try to find out as much information as I can before I spend the money. But I wish I could be a bit more sientific about my upgrades.
at this stage I am running win98
2g pentium, 512mb 333 kingmax, triplex ti4200 ddr 64mb,wd se 80g hd, 17" monitor.
& Iwould have to say that I am quite happy with my macine but I still feel that it seems like a guessing game.
The ram for example ,I first had 256mb of 266ddr & now I have 512 of 333. I got it for a good price but it was still quite a bit of money. It has made a diiference but not a big difference.
I am aming to get the machine running well for unreal tournament 2003.
for now I just have the demo.

105933 2002-12-14 10:45:00 UT2k3 will run fine on that. The only thing in that system that I would be wanting to upgrade in a hurry would be the monitor to a decent 19".

But then that's not needed and is just a hassle to carry to LANs.

I've been thinking about my next upgrade..... I'm tendin towards and lcd monitor in the new year as opposed to a bigger monitor.

105935 2002-12-14 21:55:00 LCD screens are very dear and can be slower for refresh rate hence not too good for gaming kiwibeat (304)
