| 106317 | 2002-12-15 19:25:00 | Have Widows 98SE installed on C: and D: as backup C:> Cannot find WIN COM unable to to continue loading Windows. Boot disk only starts system,not windows. Tried to reinstall windows from CD but System already has windows installed .So that's no help. Any solutions |

| 106318 | 2002-12-15 19:39:00 | Hey Boot into dos (By pressing F5 or F8 before the windows splash screens - Welcome to Windows) this will give you a bootup menu, select Command Prompt or Command Prompt Only - doesn't matter Put your Windows CDROM into your CDDrive (I assume that it's E:, if not change the following to suit) Then type: extract E:\Win98\Win98_25.cab win.com This will restore Win.Com to your computer and should fix your problem Also, there is a Microsoft Article on it Creating an new WIN.COM file (support.microsoft.com) Hope this helped CyberChuck |
