106275 2002-12-15 08:37:00 Hi F1

Does anyone have a link to a password revealer for the asterixes in a Windows 2000 PC dial up connection?

thanks

106276 2002-12-15 08:43:00 Try revealer.exe from here:
http://www.rekenwonder.com/

It works ok with win98 and is also supposed to work with NT, so it may be ok with Win2000.

Cheers

106277 2002-12-15 08:45:00 Sorry should have read the site more carefully it DOESNT work with win2000. Terry Porritt (14)
106278 2002-12-15 18:27:00 Hey

There's a PCWorld article on that by Geoff Palmer - might be worth a read.. Even has links to the makers websites for you
The only question I have now is why don't you know the password already?

Click here (www.pcworld.co.nz) for Geoff Palmers article

106279 2002-12-15 22:02:00 I tried many password revealers in Windows 2000 - to no avail. It showed my password as "dial-up settings". Although this is the right length of characters (amazingly), it isn't my password. agent (30)
106280 2002-12-15 22:29:00 I used Revelation by Snadboy (V 2.0) but it only seems to work on Win9x/ME Chilling_Silence (9)
106281 2002-12-15 22:50:00 i use star slayer...got it from download.com. i can't remember the orginating url tho. works very well for me, altho I use win 98 i'm not sure if it works on win 2000, you could always try it :)

106282 2002-12-16 00:52:00 I think password revealers won't work on Windows 2000 or XP, and any later release of Windows Microsoft makes. This is probably due to increased security. As I said above, the password given to me by a program was "Dial-up settings"... and that sure as hell ain't my internet password. The programs most likely work on ME and previous releases because they were designed for home users, and were therefore less secure and stable. agent (30)
106283 2002-12-18 05:01:00 Thanks everyone

I have two dial up connections and one isn't working and I haven't recorded the password. I do have a password cracker somewhere for Windows 2000 (I used that to find it last time I forgot it) but have misplaced that as well. I have seen someone at work using a special version of the rekensoft password revealer on windows 2000 so I will ask them
