106827 2002-12-17 07:21:00 I take it you are referring to the school's administration programs?
If so, check out their website: http://musac.massey.ac.nz/ and call them for help.

106828 2002-12-17 07:28:00 I looked this program up on the net for my wife. My impression is that it is a database designed specifically for schools to keep a track of resources. The different moduls are designed for various areas and intergrate with the main system. In my wifes experience the system was server based.
Possibly you need to purchase the main program, and then you could run the downloaded modules. The website is pretty vague and seem to be mainly focused on existing customers.

106829 2002-12-17 07:41:00 Rodger, you are correct. It is a database program designed for schools. The school I worked at a few years ago used most of the modules (but not the library manager as when we converted to MUSAC the librarian chose to stay with their existing package).

It's not freeware so any requests for information or assistance need to be directed to MUSAC

106830 2002-12-17 08:14:00 Yes this is a schools database it costs about $1200 to get the full version you used to be able to download the system files from musacs site. the program will run in demo mode unless you purchase the registration file greeny (2356)
106831 2002-12-17 20:07:00 We use the Library Manager part of MUSAC here in the community library.
Bought the package years ago and then we updated every year and paid our re-registration.

But about a year ago we decided to 'go it alone' so to speak. We no longer pay the registration, we get to use the program but no updates and no helpdesk.

That's ok because it's my job to keep it going and I enjoy it.

Not a very helpful post but couldn't resist saying something as first time Iv'e seen MUSAC mentioned here.

Cheers....mark :) c
