| 106587 | 2002-12-16 10:14:00 | I've learned a lot more from scrolling through your pages than from all sorts of other tutorials, but please spare a thought for me (am I alone) searching for knowledge. I waste a lot of time clicking on subjects like 'HELP' only to find that the poor fellow has something wrong with something I don't have. A specific heading would enable me (am I still alone?) to learn/find/obtain/down load - and who knows, eventually perhaps contribute. |

| 106588 | 2002-12-16 18:18:00 | It's a problem we all have Joseph. It's not the Geeks who are the culprits. Some people, including me sometimes, find it hard to think of an appropriate subject heading that accurately fits the topic. It's so much easier to just go "HELP!!" :D |

Ending with "please" is an optional courtesy. Not talking about you here Susan, I hasten to add, just the stream of oncers, occasionals and semi regulars who think all F1'ers are psychic and don't read the instructions. There is a very practical reason for being descriptive too. For helpers on dial-up connections, it saves them an enormous amount of time opening posts that they can't help with, while perhaps leaving those they could help wanting for lack of time to get to them all. Having said that, nothing will change so I guess we have to live with it. That or get Jetstream :D Cheers Billy 8-{) :| |
