| 106599 | 2002-12-16 09:56:00 | We have our computers connected to the net going through a swtich, which then goes to an ADSL router. When I try to find my IP address (using the ipconfig.exe util in WinXP) it just shows my address on the LAN, eg 10.0.0.1. How can I find the actual IP address? There should be no problems playing games online without knowing. However if you wish to host a game and let others join in then you need to set up some pinholes in the router so that it knows that all data going in on certain ports get forwarded to your local IP address otherwise it will not know what to do with then and discard it. |
