2002-12-17 07:15:00 | That would be probably classed as theft....... I think the customer was an utter prick. Anyone who has worked in retail will know what I mean. He might as well as picked up a DVD player and walked out with that too. Its the same difference

2002-12-17 07:17:00 | I think the point may be (well, to me anyway) the fact that some places hire complete idiots to sell computers/parts/technology. I really wonder what some HR people are thinking hiring people to sell this stuff with no idea. | honeylaser (814) | |
2002-12-17 07:24:00 | What were you like on your first day at work Honeylaser? The customer knew before the salesperson put the brick of RAM in the carry bag that the assistant had made a mistake. That is theft.

2002-12-17 08:03:00 | I think the dude should have said something but....... A friend of mine brought a HP system abotu a year ago and he sked me to come over and help setup it up. when i was setting it up i asked if he had any blank CD's for the wirter. he answer was "we dont have a writer, they the model with a writer was too costly". the invoive said "56x CD-rom drive" the windows hardware info said "CD-writer combo drive" when he rang the shop who sold it to him they just said "have funwith it and keep you mouth shut" being that the cost diffrence was only about $200 and that he rnag the shop and explaned the fact that he got more than he paid for I think he is in the right to keep it. but if the customer knew he was getting 50 or 60 times the value of parts and knew this BEFORE he left the shop then it is wrong.

2002-12-17 08:18:00 | He did the right thing by ringing the shop . There was no intent to defraud, and the shop probably saw it as customer relations [they made the mistake] and allowed him to keep the goods . What people don't realise is, that as profits go down due to loss of stock, its usually the employees who either loose some of thier contracted hours or are made redundant due to loss of profits . I will get off my soap box now . BALDY:-)
