106728 2002-12-17 01:51:00 I think it's safe to assume that all graphics on the internet ate copyright to someone unless it is specifically stated to the contrary. crozier (2004)

106730 2002-12-17 02:44:00 so if you remake a graphic, with all intents to have a resemblance to the original, is that breaching copyright?

106731 2002-12-17 02:56:00 From memory I think it has be different to the original. 10% or 20% threshold I think. crozier (2004)
106732 2002-12-17 03:11:00 There are full copyright laws here (www.med.govt.nz) along with the amendment for digital technology (www.med.govt.nz). I don't think they will really say in black and white what does and does not constitute breach of Copyright. If you changed an image by the said 10% or 20% I'm sure anyone with a decent lawyer (should they feel the need) could still probably prove a breach in court. 40% or 50% you might "get away with it". honeylaser (814)
106733 2002-12-17 03:20:00 so whos opinion should i seek concerning some graphics ive made resembling some used here at pressf1 and, whether they are fine with me using them?

106734 2002-12-17 05:13:00 Hey sal, it's looking quite cool! ;-) :D

I'd suggest you email someone who's involved with PF1, eg Mary Hatrick and ask her if she can put you onto someone who can answer your questions with authority. Bruce isn't available at the moment apparently and you want your question answered pretty soon.

I guess Mary might be able to be contacted via the webmaster's email addy at the bottom of the page. Failing that, give Chris K a yell.
