106946 2002-12-17 19:37:00 Hey

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity of your mouse?
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mouse, click on the Pointer options tab and move the Pointer Speed tab up to your liking

Have you tried another mouse? as this will determine whether it is the mouse or a setting with the operating system itself. I would say it is the mouse, but just make sure.

It should be under warranty right? You could get a replacement

106947 2002-12-17 19:48:00 It could be the "Ball" inside the mouse, you may want to try temporarily replacing that if you have a spare, otherwise, if its really bugging you, go down to DSE or the Warehouse, I've seen budget mice there that you can nick the ball from (Once bought and taken home I mean..) and these go sometimes for as little as $2 for TWH!

Cheers

After using my optical mouse i was able to loose 50 pounds in just 5 weeks. It's great i could never go back :-)
Sorry Sussan had to take the dig there as your comment sound like a plug.

But i do agree with you, don't bother with balls, go get an optical. DSE usually has them for about $40-60. WHile this is more than a budget mouse it means you never have to worry about the ball jumping or the likes again

106950 2002-12-17 20:55:00 Agreed.

I've actually seen a M$ Optical IntelliMouse available at DSE for only $26 the other week. While most are not this price ($55 is average I believe), there are some good bargains out there.

Come to think of it, I need a new mouse...

106953 2002-12-18 07:21:00 What type of mouse pad are you using?

I had similar problems with my original pad. It was one with a shiny plastic surface.

When I replaced it with a fabric coated pad, similar to the material that wet suits are made of, the problem disappeared.

Mine is an Accodata which costs $2 at the Warehouse Stationery.

Cheers.

If I really wanted to make a plug I would have said that I have a Genius NetScroll Optical, PS/2 Mouse that I got from Dragon Computer Supplies for $39. :p
