107255 2002-12-18 05:04:00 Hi Guys

I'M running Office 97 with XP Pro and when I have several docs open in WORD, I wish to easily change between them. This can be done by clicking on the WINDOWS heading on the tool bar and slecting the correct document, but this is a little bit slow

In EXCEL, with several diferent files open, you can just "Control" "TAB" between the opened files. (doesn't work in WORD)
Does anybody out there know if there is a shortcut in WORD, to do the same thing.

Cheers

107256 2002-12-18 05:11:00 As somebody mentioned earlier today (I think it was godfather) that info is easily found in the Help for Word - search for keyboard shortcuts. The shortcuts you want are Ctrl+F6 and Ctrl+Shift+F6.

I use both Excel and Word - both shortcuts help me, thanks

107258 2002-12-18 22:59:00 I should have mentioned that the Ctrl+F6 and Ctrl+Shift+F6 shortcuts work in Excel too, so you may prefer to stick with that combination for consistency between Excel and Word, rather than Ctrl+Tab.

107259 2002-12-19 08:48:00 I find it easier to use ALT + TAB this brings up a small window which while holding down your ALT key you are able to 'tab' you way through all open documents in word, excel and internet explorer. At present i have 7 windows open and by using the ALT = TAB i can see what each window contains, by releasing the keys when the desired window is reached, it appears for me to view.

Katt ........ who is ALT + TAB outa here ;)

107260 2002-12-19 08:58:00 katt, that works on later versions of Word, but in earlier versions it swaps between Word and other applications running, not between documents in Word (they will be nested within Word and not as concurrent applications).

I am unsure where Word 97 fits the feature, but it may not work if I remember correctly.
