107732 2002-12-20 06:25:00 As advised in an earlier post, because it is near to Christmas and my mouse was playing up, I went today to buy myself a new mouse. The dealer who we bought our computer from was a bit surprised that I am now on my 3rd mouse in 2 years. The first played up and because we wanted to upgrade , no problem. That was replaced under warranty when it died, and now this one is being difficult. He suggested it wasn't the mouse but that something else was causing the problem but had no concrete ideas. I am going to take the old one in for him to check but can anyone here help??
Thank you so much and Merry Christmas to you all Again

107733 2002-12-20 06:30:00 Can you be a bit more specific in what "playing up" entails. Also the brand/type of mouse as well.

Cheers

Jen :-)

107734 2002-12-20 07:23:00 With the cheaper mice the plastic parts wear out fairly quickly especialy if used on a fabric type matt. Go for an optical mouse and so eliminate the ball mechanism which causes most of the problems as the ball rolls against a plastic spindle which in turn is held in place by plastic and as rubbish builds up on the spindle it wears the plastic holding it. mikebartnz (21)
107735 2002-12-20 07:48:00 I think the first mouse was an ordinary microsoft mouse. The last 2 have been Microsoft Optical intellimouses. Their lights go out causing me to back out of wherever I am by keyboard. Jakeb (2156)
