| 1325551 | 2013-01-29 22:42:00 | PC Hardware: MB: Gigabyte P67X-UD3-B3 CPU: Sandy Bridge i5 Quadcore 3.1GH RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600 PSU: Cooler Master GX 750W Current Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD5850 Xtreme 1GB Most older games play smoothly but seen some lag on the newer ones such as Rage. (also have Dishonored to play) Looking at spending around $300-400. What would be a good card for that price range. Either Nvidia or Radeon. Thanks |

| 1325553 | 2013-01-30 02:40:00 | Or maybe GTX660 if you want to go Nvidia. I'd look up a comparison but I'm on my phone. | dugimodo (138) | ||

| 1325556 | 2013-01-30 03:37:00 | AMD drivers are PITA at present...AND AMD are aware of this....so its not FUD people! forums.anandtech.com 7xxx series has issues with flickering and artifacts, some DX9 games as well, the latest betas 13.2 apparently go some way to fixing this, pre generation are okay!.... Personally, I would rather 95% of the performance with better stability, but some people get caught up in the FPS bandwagon.... OP, you havent stated your resolution yet, so its quite funny people are recommending a GPU when they dont even know the LCD output..... |

| 1325559 | 2013-01-30 04:42:00 | Depends of you overclock, 7850's overclock amazingly. I guess the 7870 would overclock as well too(?) Benchmarks: www.anandtech.com Considering you can get a 7850 for under $300 and a 7870 is closer to $400 I'd probably just get the 7850. Worth a thought: Radeon HD 8000's cards are coming out soon and I believe GK110 cards from nVidia are on their way (Titan or something). |
