1325281 2013-01-27 23:39:00 Hi,I read an article re top anti virus/internet security software, which gave a big thumbs up to Kaspersky Internet Security,so I thought why not give it ago.So far so good all installed OK,but I can no longer connect to the other computers on my network. Can anyone tell me how to allow connections between two computers both of which are both Windows 7 64 bit.The desktop is running Avast (it can see my laptop, but cannot connect) while the laptop is running Kaspersky (it cannot see the desktop at all). Thanks in advance.Cheers ruup (1827)
1325282 2013-01-27 23:46:00 You'll more than likely need to go into the Firewall settings within Kaspersky ,where ever they are, and allow the address range of your router through.

For example if it were my network it would be 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.254

1325283 2013-01-27 23:48:00 At a guess I would say the firewall in kaspersky has blocked access, go into the firewall settings and modify. Sorry, I dont use the programme so cant talk you through what you need to modify, but thats your first place to look and sort out.
Good luck.

1325285 2013-01-29 01:04:00 I also use the same Kaspersky 2013, and I sometimes find I need to right click on the task bar icon and select "Tools" "Application Control" (this is after trying to run the program that causes issues) and see if it is listed under "running" and see if "High Restricted" under status heading is showing and change this to "Trusted" to allow the program to run. 1325287 2013-01-29 02:09:00 These all singing, all dancing, do everything Security suites are often more trouble than they are worth

Just use the Bog standard simple ol' Antivirus version & you'll have less issues. Kasperky AV for example.
Kaspersky is a Great product, but... may slow things down on older PC's
