1325299 2013-01-27 22:23:00 Anti Malware - think may have sneaked in somehow!
Tried Malwarebyte but nothing shows up.
Also tried MS Security downloading their tool but does not work on 64 bit and darned if can find a version that will. (Microsoft need a lesson on how to run search - but that's another story).
OK how do I get rid of this beast?!
Thanks.

1325301 2013-01-27 23:24:00 would help if you explained just what it is you think may have "sneaked in"

"Anti Malware" is not a great description of what it is, or what you think it is doing to your comp.

...perhaps post a hijack-this log file and we'll see if there is anything there that shouldn't be

1325302 2013-01-27 23:43:00 Anti Malware is generally a programme (such as Malwarebytes) to get rid of malware. So what do you mean? Do you have malware, do you have malware that acts like anti malware, do you have a rogue anti malware programme....???? What are you meaning, why do you think something has snuck in, what symptoms is your computer showing that makes you think something is going on that shouldnt be? Iantech (16386)
1325303 2013-01-27 23:53:00 The computer has started running really slow - mouse taking ages to respond. Have done a system restore back 2 weeks but no difference.
AVG and MS Security Essentials are not showing anything.
Thanks

1325304 2013-01-28 00:07:00 Are you running both AVG and MSE at the same time if so theres your problem, ditch AVG. You can't run two anti virus programs without causing major problems gary67 (56)

NO am not running both - installed AVG to see if it picked up anything and then uninstalled.

1325306 2013-01-28 01:46:00 Further info: CPU usage is 29% (the only open program is iTunes), Processes 93, Physical memory 43%. There is 52GB free on the SSD that holds the OS.
What now?!
Thanks

1325307 2013-01-28 02:40:00 iTunes is very heavy on the CPU, none of those figures sound out of the ordinary. If you think you've got something nasty, go to www.eset.com and run the online scanner. Nick G (16709)
1325308 2013-01-28 04:45:00 Best way to check if you have anything, reboot into safe mode and run your scanners (Antimalwarebytes and MSE)

Also looking at your startup menu can tell you if you have some dodgy apps starting and give you a clue what it could be
Getting rid of some of those startups (quicktime, itunes, java updater etc for example) can make vast improvements on your computers speed
