1324761 2013-01-24 22:49:00 Just got the girlfriend a new HTC One-V, very happy to be ditching the iPhone.

I've been looking around on how to move contacts/messages to the new phone, and it doesn't look like something that can be done without some third party software.

I've come across this (www.backuptrans.com)program, which looks OK, but it doesn't seem to do contacts. (Why on earth Apple doesn't let contacts be stored on the SIM is truly beyond me.)

Has anyone done this before, or has some knowledge on the subject?

Thanks. :)

1324762 2013-01-25 00:30:00 Copytrans is apparently good, www.copytrans.net --> also this one www.transfer-iphone-recovery.com

It's frustrating the way moving from one phone to another is so hard, at least with MS and google going between handsets and even OS's is relatively straight forward. Apple on the other hand :rolleyes:

Unfortunately Apple aren't as kind about letting you "Take your data with you". See: http://www.dataliberation.org/

The reason we keep all your precious data in forms you can't work with,
is that we can prevent a large percentage of your heartless betrayal from happening this way.
If you don't like it, tough :p :p

P.S. We are the cool kids... please, please come back, our shares are falling in value!

1324765 2013-01-25 01:25:00 I don't know why anyone would store contacts on a smart phone full stop when there are so many good cloud solutions. Be it GMail/Hotmail/MS Exchange, makes life so much easier when changing phones. Alex B (15479)

I just came across this for moving the contacts...
