1324697 2013-01-24 05:42:00 Hi there,

My computer began hanging a while back and would lock up upon (what seemed like) any sort of network access - e.g. email checking, opening browsers, etc. So I ran some tests on it - checked the drivers, latest updates, changed to a different antivirus. I'd used Ubuntu Live CD on the computer a few times and had no problems whatsoever so I figured Windows had corrupted.

After running a System File Check, I decided to do a full reinstall from a hash-checked ISO from MSDN. The problems prevailed, and got worse. The system not only hangs, but also now crashes every few hours it's idle. I figure it's something to do with drivers because the computer is a custom build (been working well for 2.5yrs) so upon reinstall I had to source all the 3rd party drivers again.

Here is a zip of the minidumps of the most recent crashes - all stating DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE and put the blame on ntoskrnl.exe.

Thanks in advance - I appreciate your help!

Justin

PS. If anyone was feeling extra generous, I'd love some advice on how to determine which exact driver is failing from this kind of BSOD. I've used BlueScreenView to get as far, but how do you figure out that it's say, the video driver or that it's the Sound driver. Thanks!

1324698 2013-01-24 06:02:00 I started getting a similar thing recently It's happened 3 times in a month am I don't know what's causing it to hang either. I just restarted each time and away it goes again for a week or so gary67 (56)
1324699 2013-01-24 06:11:00 The stop error is 0x0000009f - DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE - it's caused by ntoskrnl.exe. But something else is probably making it crash. ASUS AI charger can cause this stop error. Uninstall it. See if it continues to crash.

Are you overclocking?? If you are, set it back to the default settings. It looks like LEqdUsb.Sys can also cause this stop error. This belongs to Logitech Equad USB. A mouse? Or something made by Logitech

Is Intel Extreme Tuning a program? If it is, is it running in the background?

See if there are updates for whatever Logitech USB device you've got and AI charger if you want to use it. Altho, a lot of sites say its hopeless

1324700 2013-01-24 08:02:00 Fantastic! Thanks for that Speedy . I have now uninstalled Intel Extreme Tuning, AI Charger and Logitech SetPoint . After a bit of digging - I found here ( . sevenforums . com/crashes-debugging/118672-bsod-freeze-up-problems-4 . html#post1045677" target="_blank">www . sevenforums . com) that the LEqdUsb . sys refers to the Logitech Unifying Reciever driver .

I had installed a new Logitech Unifying keyboard on the computer a while back, and that was when the problems began now I remember . Hopefully all is fixed now .

Thanks again,

Justin
