| 1324653 | 2013-01-23 23:41:00 | My C drive is a 60gb SSD which is completely full up and yet i have no idea what to remove from it as i need 20gb free for the windows 8 upgrade, I have always made sure that everything i download or install goes into a separate drive yet my c drive has still gradually filled up. Can anyone inform me of what to get rid of to clear up 20gb of space. |

| 1324655 | 2013-01-23 23:55:00 | You must have some data or a few programs on it then. Check things like email, games, or programs you no longer use. Just installing two Windows 7's right now, both only have W7 and their drivers installed, The ASUS with all updates uses 19GB, ( 2 GB of that is drivers) The Acer uses 14.8GB no updates yet (548MB in Drivers Folder). |

| 1324657 | 2013-01-24 00:11:00 | If the swap file is set on the C: move it. Also run CCleaner and delete what you can including old system restore points. Check the recycle bins properties as well, defaults to 10% of drive space for deleted stuff. | dugimodo (138) | ||

| 1324659 | 2013-01-24 00:25:00 | I was answering on my phone and it's just too tedious so I switched to the laptop. To continue, If you download the upgrade from microsoft you have the option to create an ISO and burn it to disk which you can then boot off. Doing it this way gives you a bit more flexibilty. It's possible to do a clean install or install to a different drive and have a dual boot going on. Also to make space go through add/remove programs and remove any you no longer need or that are easily re-installed. Personally I think 60GB is too small to comfortably fit a windows OS on, I have managed quite well with a 120 and with my new 256 I have everything installed on it but i think 60 is just too restrictive. |
