1300034 2012-09-10 07:03:00 Wow that is a big fine!

Why don't these telco's learn their lesson and tell the truth in plain langauge.
They are often getting done for misleading ads.

What about Slingshot ?

On their tv ad they say they are building a network and you see grass with holes being dug.

I don't think Slingshot have their own network!

1300035 2012-09-10 07:46:00 They certainly seem to be slow learners but these cases also relate back to 2007-2008. Why the hell does it take four years for something like this to go through the system. mikebartnz (21)

Bureaucracy.

They have to have as many meetings as possible where they spend as much money as possible to do as little as possible.

1300037 2012-09-10 07:49:00 Agreed. Another example is 2degrees. Yes, they have coverage, but you have to roam even north of Silverdale or on Waiheke, onto the Vodafone network. I can live with that because their plans are such that for a nominal fee I get the coverage I want, especially data.

But although I pay them on account $39 a month, and go nowhere their caps, they sting me $0.20 a time to access voicemail. I just want a comprehensive once only charge. Are they interested in that? You guessed it.

1300038 2012-09-10 08:30:00 I heard on the radio news that they pleaded guilty. It appears that the judge was kind to them and cut the fine from $1.2 million to $960,000 to include a 20 per cent discount for early guilty pleas by Vodafone.

1300039 2012-09-10 08:58:00 The trouble is we all know who will actually be paying the fine. mikebartnz (21)
1300040 2012-09-10 09:37:00 Not me as I do not use Vodafone products. Oh the poor shareholders!! Bobh (5192)
1300041 2012-09-10 10:30:00 Yes poor shareholders!

Perhaps they could not pay the fine and then get given community service ? or Home D ?

Shareholders wont suffer at all it will be the customer as usual.
I wonder what happens to the money. Probably finds its way into the consolidated fund.
