1325618 2013-02-01 05:00:00 Just to be safe. If these are the right drivers, since they're Nforce, do a custom install if its got the option. In case Nvidia firewall is there, which you dont want. Speedy Gonzales (78)
1325619 2013-02-01 05:39:00 Ok thanks for the tip. :) ChazTheGeek (16619)
1325620 2013-03-15 05:39:00 Still ain't fixed. I can get sound working but will BSOD me after a bit.

1325621 2013-03-15 08:22:00 Is it the same 0x124 stop error or something else? That stop error may have something to do with the CPU thats on it (like a bug in the CPU). Or a feature that the CPU has but it maybe buggy. And windows is picking it up

Try turning off cool n quiet in the BIOS. See if it crashes

1325622 2013-03-15 08:38:00 To quote another forum:
halmacpi is part of the hardware abstraction layer [specifically, the ACPI power settings], which points to a problem with a hardware component.
Try uninstalling the audio Drivers completely - then running windows updates to see if that picks them up. Been more than once older boards like you have, windows drivers work better than the manufactures ones. :2cents:

1325623 2013-03-15 08:45:00 Thats true the win7 default drivers are better than some ASUS audio drivers. The ASUS ones I installed once sounded like it was scratchy. And the sound was way lower than Windows default drivers Speedy Gonzales (78)
1325624 2013-03-15 20:13:00 Thanks, will have a look. ChazTheGeek (16619)
1325625 2013-03-16 01:29:00 Turned out that Cool an Quiet was already off - so I turned it on to see what happened. No difference.
Anyway I have uninstalled all drivers and ran windows update. Everything is going alright so far. No sound yet. May have to do another reboot.

1325626 2013-03-16 03:34:00 I got sound to work after a reboot, but after a while the quality started to degrade. Then it turned into white noise (almost).
Then a BSOD.
