1300009 2012-09-10 11:01:00 I wonder if the “Maori Wind” was trying to put a sail on a Locomotive and thereby claim NZ Rail, which they can then sell to the Chinese, and fund a couple more Tui’s for the Rangi’s? ;)

Fixed it for you.

1300010 2012-09-10 23:02:00 Looking at that photo of its base it is not surprising it fell down in a bit of wind. That weld was not going to hold much at all. Whoever approved the whole structure should be looking for a new job. CliveM (6007)

Dead right, a blind man could see what happened. Fancy asking a weld on a flange base to support a 17m mast with a bl..dy great metal sail on the top. :groan:

I look forward to the findings of the Royal Commission who will no doubt write volumes about the bleeding obvious. :D

Just like the CTV Building. :D

Dont even say things like that in jest. They just might do it and cost the ratepayers a further fortune for nothing.

1300014 2012-09-11 21:02:00 I always thought it had elements of Leonardo da Vinci about it, was I wrong?

Surely not.!
