| 108405 | 2002-12-23 02:37:00 | On 18/12 I made a posting referring to problems retrieving mail into e-mail clients from the Eudora webmail POP server after the recent upgrade of the web software. Unfortunately that posting contained a few errors because I stupidly chose to RTFM. Part of the Eudora service seems to be to deliberately not inform or, failing that, to misinform. For a start, it is not necessary (as yet, anyway) to have a paid webmail account before being able to retrieve mail from it into a client. For another, the website contains instructions for configuring various e-mail clients to retrieve POP mail from the Eudora webmail POP server. Some of these instructions are incorrect. For instance, under Configuring Eudora Mail (5.1 or higher for PC) - step 5 should read 'Login Name. Enter your username[i].' Step 6 should read 'Incoming Mail Server. Type "[i]pop.eudoramail.com." ' The bits in italics are the corrections you need to make. Under Configuring Microsoft Outlook Express (IE 5 or higher for PC) step 9 should presumably read 'Type"[i]pop.eudoramail.com" for the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP)server.' Similar adjustments to the POP server address presumably need to be made for other client. My grateful thanks to 'Clueless' for alerting me to this server address and proving that it still works. |

| 108407 | 2002-12-27 11:31:00 | And now i'll be the bearer of bad news; read this error message Could not login to pop.eudoramail.com. The password may be wrong. The server said: "ased on the Usage Policies in the Terms and Conditions of your Webmail service you have used up your POP login quota for the day. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions at the Webmail site" It looks as though the pop.eudoramail.com days are now numbered. Maybe its time to sign up for a free orcon.net.nz address after all! .Clueless |

| 108408 | 2002-12-28 09:55:00 | Somewhere on the new version of the webpage (maybe under Terms and Conditions, maybe under Having Trouble Connecting to the POP Server?) there is a wee item which says you may only access your POP account a max of 5 times per day unless you have a paid account. I think waiting till tomorrow will solve your access problem. Robin |

| 108409 | 2002-12-28 10:13:00 | i've taken my 2 pop.eudoramail.com addresses off "check every X minutes, so problem over. Not that it matters mymail@my-own-domains.co.nz kinda makes the freebe stuff almost redundunt, but still good for a disposible address! .Clueless |
