108689 2002-12-24 09:28:00 I know that you can get Karaoke CDs from CD stores. I would assume that karaoke songs are copyright and, therefore, not available for free download. crozier (2004)

108691 2002-12-24 10:27:00 Well, you could start here (www.google.com)
Only 163,000 sites to visit. But perhaps you have tried them?

If the "songs" and lyric graphics are in a normal mpeg format, use Nero or similar CD burner program and create a VCD.

But a word of caution, not all DVD players handle all types of CD-R media.
Most that will play a home recorded CD seem to prefer a CD-RW, but not always.

108692 2002-12-24 10:42:00 I think you'll find that by Karaoke, it is more referring to the ability to use a microphone at the same time as playing a DVD or whatever. -=JM=- (16)
108693 2003-02-04 01:35:00 ]:) www.vcdhelp.com has really good help on creating video cd's. my dvd is vcd compatible, has 2 mic inputs and a karaoke mode. i have heaps of .kar files, midi sounds yuk so i'm trying to put my .wav files together with my .kar files to save as .avi. the .avi is then converted to an .mpeg which can be burnt to cd using nero burning rom. the program karvideo (just type it into google toolbar), can join .kar and .wav and output to .avi, but i'm having a slight problem synchronising the audio in my video clip, so i'm looking for another program to fiddle with the timing of either my audio or video file. if anyone sees this, appreciate any help.
you can also buy karaoke dvd, vcd from www.karaoke.co.nz
