| 108630 | 2002-12-24 03:58:00 | Hi ConCon Was that a five outlet multiway box? The cheap ones (and some not so cheap) have a real problem with earth connections failing. Sounds like that was the problem for you. When this happens, the metal chassis of your computer floats at up to 230 volts ac because the filter components at the input to your power supply don't have a ground reference. It is a high impedance connection to the mains but enough for you to feel a twiddle if you are earthed elsewhere.
