| 109077 | 2002-12-26 01:56:00 | Having spent a lot of money on a digital camera, I would like to be able to print some off. Printer is a Canon BJC4100 using XPpro. Printing with Canon photo gloss paper. Problem is, all pics have a series of lines across them, colour is ok and the lines are the only problem. The print head is new, so that is not the problem. Text printing is very good. Any help greatly appreciated...Ron24 |

| 109078 | 2002-12-26 02:24:00 | Are you sure it is not the print heads by running a print head clean. I don't use canon but there should be a option to clean the nozzles/print heads. Without seeing the pictures, lines which can vary from very fine to larger lines across the picture suggests in the first instance that one or more of your nozzles / print heads is dirty or partly/blocked. If you have not already done so then use some old paper and do a print head clean and then do a demo print still using cheap paper. If you have done a print head clean or you now do one and it can sometimes take more than one clean and the problem is still there then post back and someone might be able to suggets something else. |

| 109080 | 2002-12-26 05:48:00 | Do a head alignment as well, to make sure that the print head is properly set up. The instructions are in the help files and it is pretty easy to do. You will also get some dgree of streaking/lines unless you use the maximum photo-quality setting that give a multiple passes to fill in any discrepancies between head passes. Cheers Billy *<8-{) :D |

| 109081 | 2002-12-26 07:15:00 | I'm assuming you selected the correct paper when printing. You will have to choose what paper you use in the media type list. I haven't done any serious printing of photo's but when I was playing, I got the best results when using the High Gloss Photo Film option. Craig |

| 109082 | 2002-12-27 02:36:00 | Thanks guys for the help. I was wrong in the original post to say that the new cartridge was not the problem, as it was. Followed the advice and did a couple of cleanings of the head and now no lines on the print. To others with this problem, don't assume because it is new, it is perfect. Thanks again for the help and as my grandaughter says Press1 rules.. Regards Ron24.. |
