108753 2002-12-25 02:53:00 Lol, this is weird...

If I play one of my DivX movies and take a screenshot of it, and then paste it into PSP, PS or Paint (any graphic program) the screenshot is shown, but the movie is PLAYING. Inside the "freezed" prnt screen. i can zoom in, re-prnt-screen, do anything, paste from program to program, and the box is the playing movie, still zoomable, etc. if i switch back to the media palyer and hit PAUSE, then go back to my paint programs, the iamge is still, but even if i crop it and save the "FREEZED" image, the second i quit the media player BANG the image is pure black.

it defies logic!!!! i dont get it....really weird. i'd show you but, well, apart from filming it how can i? try it tho, it may only be some DivX movies/AVI's.

108754 2002-12-25 04:30:00 I have had that from time to time also, but when it happens I always forget which movie or player I was using so I can test it again.

What player / movie format does it do it with for you??

108755 2002-12-25 04:54:00 I think it's called Video Overlay.

When I used to watch TV using the ATI TV Player software, I could open up PSP, make a pic the size of my desktop, splash it all purple (R255,G0,B255), view the "pic" in fullscreen, and it would be transparent (I could watch the TV without the function control buttons).

As no amount of hitting Print Screen will get you the pic you want, I suggest using the inbuilt picture grabber function. Can't remember if DivX has this, but this is the only way to get pictures of video being played back.
