but by the looks of it, someone else here with a better understanding of comp language might be able to see what you've done by the command you gave it:-

109497 2003-01-06 09:37:00 Right - if you want something fixed sometimes you have to do it your damn self! OK then - if you every need to get out of this predicament all you need to do is select run from the start menu and type regedit and hit enter (or click OK). This takes you into the registry and it is not for the faint-hearted so if it makes you nervous then select my computer in the left-hand column and select export from the file menu. This takes you to a save window where you can type in a suitable name for the file and select an appropriate directory.

Right! Now down to business. What I intend to do is to get you to create new registry files and replace your dud ones with the original ones.

Copy and paste this text into Notepad and save it as Directory.reg in a suitable directory:

Now you need to have Windows Explorer open with the two .reg files you created showing while you have regedit open. In Regedit, select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory and delete it. Now switch to Windows Explorer and double-click on the Directory.reg file and select OK to import it into the registry. Now switch back to Regedit and select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder and deleter it. Switch to Windows Explorer and double_click on the Folder.reg file hit OK to import it into the registry.

This should put everything back the way it was... 		tutaekuri (410)
