| 109333 | 2002-12-27 22:30:00 | have a friend who has Home XP and uses outlook express. when he opens the program it asks for his pop3 password. just below the password box is a tick box for "Save password" but the box is grayed out. why? how do we fix it? FYI: the system was recently reinstalled by HP he is loged in a and anministartor of the system (not using a restricted account) he does not want to save the dialup password, just the pop3 password (which are the same) thanks |

| 109334 | 2002-12-28 00:31:00 | Hi there, Try going to Tools > Accounts > then highlight the mail account and click on Properties > Servers tab. That same box is there to 'save password'. See if you can change the settings there. I am not sure if this will make a difference. FYI the other settings there (Log on using Secure........ & My server requires authentication) are NOT ticked. I am using XP Pro on ADSL. sam m |
