| 109824 | 2002-12-29 21:56:00 | Hi all, I'm looking at buying a new motherboard with integrated sound (the Soyo Dragon KT400) for the specific reason that it enables optical audio in and out. However I am a musician and have other soundcards I want to use at the same time. I am currently running 3 PCI soundcards simultaneously (6 channels of audio in/out) but none of the cards have optical in/out. Is there a way of using these cards (or at least one of them) without disabling the onboard audio? | joe_exception (2874) | ||

Once thats done, add the etra soundcard and disable the onboard in the BIOS. Setup the extra soundcard, and then restart and enable the onboard in the BIOS. The reson for this is that my SB!Live wouldnt get picked up until it had had its drivers installed - and the drivers wouldnt install until I had disabled onboard sound. Both happily co-exist now! |
