| 109701 | 2002-12-29 06:24:00 | I have Norton SystemWorks and the Norton Anti_Virus Auto-Protect is always Disabled! Every Time I try and enable it, the screen turns red (just like the blue screen, you know when you get the blue screen when the computer freezes) and on it, it says: NAV AUTO-PROTECT Unable to initialize the virus scanning engine database files. How do I fix that? Everything else works fine! And it also happens when I turn on my computer, before I log on! Please someone reply with a solution! |

| 109703 | 2002-12-31 05:02:00 | try updating windows, whatever version you use, if you use any version older then 2002 version in WinXP then you are asking for trouble, because it is not compatible, upgrade to 2002 or newer versions. try reinstalling it. cheers |

From memory after many searching through Symantec site (as per links provided above and similar) I had to remove NAV completely using Symantec NAV removal tool. It's called "rnav". That may be what you have to do. There is also (I think) a 'repair' feature on systemworks CD. Have you tried running systemworks CD again? sam m |
