110088 2002-12-31 02:55:00 AMD Athlon XP 1700+ and I think I sit at around 5 less than BR, but the hottest after gaming and harcore MP3 encoding (1 hour long MP3) it will get to around 48, no hotter! Chilling_Silence (9)
110089 2002-12-31 03:13:00 Well I've *made* mine hit 56ºC before.

Today it's darned hot and I'm at 44-46 with my fan on "median" (V7+) 1900+ is the CPU at stock at the moment as well.

110090 2002-12-31 03:19:00 I bought a nice big heat-sink and Fan when I built the thing coz I knew they could get hot, and I planned to do a fair amount of gaming, so for an extra $15, Why not? Chilling_Silence (9)
110091 2002-12-31 03:20:00 P4 2.4 currently at 28 degrees, been playing combat flight simulator for the last 2 hours, and never seen it above 30 degress. Danger (287)
110092 2002-12-31 03:28:00 hate to disappoint but all those numbers mean sweet stuff all without knowing room temp, case temp, load applied and HOW IT WAS MEASURED. there is roughly 20-30 degrees difference between the 2 main ways the temps are recorded on an atho. tweak'e (174)
110093 2002-12-31 04:04:00 System BIOS for me! That means there's about a 20 second delay after shutdown and restart then into the BIOS! :D

What's the other way??

Ahh.. Wait.. I know.. Attach a themometer to the underside of your heatsink!

It'd be a REAL mission to get it on then! Took me about 8-9 minutes without one attached :D ;)

which means you are measureing almost at idle. program like MBM with loging on is better for underload tests or an external thermometer on the cpu. but all that dosn't mean alot untill its put into context.
