110488 2003-01-02 04:54:00 And have read Craigs excellant FAQ, thanks Craig. What I want to know is as my new PC4 has a Motherboard with a SIS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter I think I only need a network card for my P3. Is the Lan slot coming from my P4 MB with what looks like a phone jack slot where the cable will go? Is this the same connection as will come with a network card for my P3? Do I need any special network card to interact with my MB on my P4?
One other question, I only have the one monitor, is there a cable which would enable me to have both PC's plugged into the monitor at the same time and be able to flick a switch or something to access one or the other computer, or would haveing the PC's networked make this surpurflous anyway?

The P3 network card you buy will have the same socket. You need a crossover UTP cable to connect them, or else a standard UTP cable with a crossover adaptor (this will plug into the sockets you described.
You need to buy a keyboard/video/Mouse switch to use the same monitor for two PCs. They are at Dick Smiths (des.co.nz) or trademe.co.nz
