| 110528 | 2003-01-02 11:07:00 | I just did the IDG pop up survey, another POP-UP First "Pakeha" was a name given to the European from the Moaris as "white pig", & I advanced my age a bit and might get a letter from the Queen now, maybe it got lost in the post. |

| 110533 | 2003-01-02 13:55:00 | Just hit the survey again, under question 9 "Which ethnic group do you mainly belong to?" it seems I am an "other". I was bourne in NZ and are therefore not a European, nor a Maori, Samoan, Cook Isalnder etc, therefor the only option open to me is "other", bit of a strange survey when a reasonable proportion of people surveyed would have to chose "other", bit of a strange random selection system to (has everyone else been surveyed 4 times?!?!). Maybe I should try using IE :p:D I would hazard a guess to the inclusion of Q9, being necessary as a marketing ploy. And there always needs to be some kind of control (this probably isn't it though). Your ethnic group to which you belong, is based on the ethnic group to which your parents belong - and thier parents - and thier parents - etc. So to those Chinese people, who because they were born here think they are a Kiwi, then NO you're not. You have all the rights to be free in NZ, but you are not a NZ'er. *I was only using Chinese as an example - I have nothing but respect for the Chinese chefs of NZ.:p rads:p PS - this story is based on the proviso of <laugh> |

All my relatives for the past 3-4 generations are Kiwi, yet our skin color ranes from very light white, to a dark tan color. What difference is it, we are all human after all.
