111080 2003-01-05 00:30:00 Would it be better to download NAV's virus defs daily or use LiveUpdate to get the virus defs once every week? utopia (2200)
111081 2003-01-05 00:34:00 I do it every 2 days....i know sometimes theres no new definations then..but..i do it 2 be on the safe side..
sometimes no new ones come for a week...sometimes...2 dayts in a row theres new ones...
i'd recommend every 2-3 days...
i suppose someone else mite recommend a week or something hehe

111083 2003-01-05 08:17:00 According to Symantic they only update weekly on a wednesday unless there is som,e terror virus around.
I do it once a week (update NAV I mean)

111084 2003-01-05 08:21:00 Hi utopia,

Symantec usually has new virus defs available every day,but
these are not usually fully tested untiI they are in their "Live Update"bin
which is ready for downloading once a week unless there is a new virus
around!

There are a couple of new stains of "YAHA-" about right now and Symantec has had a Live-update twice already this week!

AVG sometimes updates early, but generally they leave it till their weekly
auto update!

Avast32 on the other hand,up-date every other day,but this can only be
downloaded manually!

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)
