110967 2003-01-04 08:09:00 Musicmatch is my favourite as well.

Have been having a play around with Sonique the last week. Its a simple no-frills player that sounds pretty good

110968 2003-01-04 08:19:00 I would reccommend WinAmp3 if your PC is a 500Mhz with 128MB RAM or more, otherwise, WinAmp 2.81 is fine :-) Just cant do videos like WinAmp 3 can :D Chilling_Silence (9)
110969 2003-01-04 08:35:00 winamp 2.81. unlike winamp3 (which is slowly getting there) it has heaps of plugins advailable so you can do other things. tweak'e (174)

110971 2003-01-04 09:08:00 My vote goes with the earlier winamp... does the trick, without too much use of resourses, winamp3 wont work at all well on my 450 meg/256RAM pentuim machine, where as 2.x is just fine

110973 2003-01-05 01:41:00 i think there's a basic and a full. Chilling_Silence (9)
110974 2003-01-05 01:45:00 MusicMatch is free, although you can pay and upgrade to the version of MM which has the CD-burning features...

Personally, I think it's well worth it. It's a good app and having used both WinAmp, MusicMatch and a number of other mp3 players, MM comes out tops in my book.

Why not get both if you can't decide, then just uninstall the one you like the least. (This could cause the apps to fight with each other as to which one plays specific file types, but if you read the instructions, and set it up correctly, this should be minimised.)

Cheers and Happy New Year
